"All about the Boys" by Bob Fanshawe
'All About The Boys' is a play by Robert Fanshawe produced by Global Fusion Music & Arts as part of the GFMA World War 1 project in 2014 to mark the centenary of the outbreak of war 1914. The play was funded by Arts Council England, Charlton Triangle Homes, GFMA and supported by Greenwich Heritage.
The play is set in Shrewsbury at the Owen family home as well as Northern France as Lieutenant Owen's platoon attempt the crossing of the Sambre-Oise canal. During the preparations for battle, some of Wilfred's poetry is revealed to soldiers of his platoon testing its effect on the classic dry humour of the British Tommy and ultimately their emotions at the height of the battle, as its tragic course unfolds.
A film of the play is now available on YouTube
