Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on Remembrance Sunday (10th November), Britten’s War Requiem interweaves the poetry of Wilfred Owen with the Requiem Mass, creating a work that mourned the dead and pleaded the futility of war. Performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, massed choir and soloists, it is one of the twentieth century’s defining works.
