The Wilfred Owen Association is sponsoring a Commemorative Reading event on the Sunday afternoon (2.30-3.45pm) in Winchester College War Cloister, in which Michael Longley, the distingished poet and WOA Poetry Award recipient, is taking part. The reading honours the poets of the First World War from all sides of the conflict. Tickets £12.50 (Concs £10.00).
The Wilfred Owen Association International Poetry Competition
11.15-11.45 Sunday 14th September, Winchester Discovery Centre, Performance Hall
To mark the Centenary of the outbreak of WW1, The Wilfred Owen Association launched an International Poetry Competition in commemoration of Wilfred Owen (1893-1918). This free event, held during the Festival, celebrates the announcement of the winning poems with readings by the poets and presentation of the prizes.
