The Ingleborough Road Memorial Playing Field Preservation Society

February 15th 2012    Category: General

Following Tranmere Rovers football club's decision to withdrawn its application to build almost 100 homes on the Ingleborough Road playing fields, a memorial to pupils of Birkenhead Institute who died in WW1, the Ingleborough Road Memorial Playing Field Preservation Society has been formed.  The Society pledges "to honour the memory of 88 Fallen WWI Heroes remembered at this field by preserving it as was intended: for future generations to enjoy and commemorate the price that was paid... the ultimate sacrifice".

If you would like to join, please download and complete an application form (click here) and return it to the Wilfred Owen Story in Birkenhead.
