A 'lost' tribute to 158 Salford war heroes has been replaced after a campaign led by the Manchester Evening News and Cassie-Ann Creely, who had relatives on the memorial
The memorial includes part of Wilfred Owen’s poem "Anthem for Doomed Youth". His nephew, Peter Owen said: “Wilfred would be very pleased to know that some of "Anthem for Doomed Youth" is to appear on the memorial. Wilfred went back to France after leaving Craiglockhart to be with his men. Hence this memorial would be greatly respected by Wilfred.”
