To mark the Centenary of the outbreak of WW1, The Wilfred Owen Association has launched an International Poetry Competition in commemoration of Wilfred Owen (1893-1918).
1st Prize: £500
2nd Prize: £250
3rd Prize: £150
and a special young people’s prize of £250 for the best poem by a poet under 19 years.
10 Runners-up and Commended poems to be published in an anthology.
The Judges, Gladys Mary Coles, Merryn Williams and Meg Crane, will be looking for poems ‘in the spirit of Wilfred Owen’, poems with compassion and empathetic insight, on any subject or theme (not necessarily on war).
