This morning on social media, our Patron, Samuel West, and his brother and sister announced the death of their father, legendary actor Timothy West. Mr West died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday evening. Juliet, Samuel and Joseph West wrote:
'Tim was with his friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All of us will miss him terribly.'
Accompanied by Prunella Scales, Timothy West read a selection of Owen's poems for a WOA event at the Royal College of Music in 2016. President Peter Owen presented him with a volume of Scottish First World War Poetry.
